When we chose to go down the path of homeschooling our children it was out of necessity. Our oldest son was struggling with the public school system and needed a lot of testing, therapy and extra help that, at the time, was not available to him.

Kenny heard about homeschooling from a radio talk show host. He started sharing all of the benefits and asked me to sincerely pray about if this was something we should take on. Like so many homeschooling parents called to educate their children, I struggled with the thoughts of not knowing enough, having no formal training, wondering about socialization, doubting my own abilities and my patience, but when we sat down and truly prayed God made it clear that this was the path we would embark upon and He would make a way. He did and he continues to do so to this day.

We were homeschooling before google, before the internet, before smart phones and Siri could answer each and every question you can imagine. We were old school homeschoolers, library dates weekly, planned park dates, co-ops with other parents to find support and help.

As we progress through our journey, I can honestly tell you it was and continues to be the best decision for our family and our children. We have some special needs in our home that take extra time and attention and we can give that on the individual basis .We will surely share all the things we use, do and how we continue to adapt to the way each child learns and grows into their own uniqueness.
